A reader wrote to the editor of the Standard Union asking about a potential Red Hook subway connection. The editor responded that the subway project was only a tentative proposal.
Text of Q&A in the Brooklyn Standard Union, September 7, 1923
To the editor of The Standard Union
What route, stations and connections will the proposed subway to Red Hook include?
There has been only talk to date of a subway to the Red Hook section. A subway line to that locality is, we understand, included in Mayor Hylan's tentative transit programme. The proposition has not yet been submitted to the Transit Commission or the Estimate Board for approval.
