Mat Blak is peak Red Hook for exhibiting the creative flare of its founder in multiple ways and services. Here you can get your hair and beard cut AND get extraordinary flower arrangements in a stylish new loft-like shop styled by its proprietor, plus also coffee.
Protip: the owner's name is not Mat, it is Ken Marcelle; the Mat Blak name refers to the matt black color with which he paints his hairdressing tools.
The place offers grooming supplies - notably their beard humectant - unique accessories... and on the weekend curated bouquets of flowers. A shop slogan "Every guy deserves a handful of flowers."
