Red Hook Lane: Heritage Trail

At the intersections of Dwight and Delavan Streets Dwight and Verona Streets Midpoint of Dwight Street between Verona and Walcott Streets Dwight and Wolcott Streets Richards and Wolcott Streets Van Brunt and Wolcott Streets Conover and Wolcott Streets.

These streets in Red Hook closely follow an old Indian trail called Red Hook Lane, which was used by George Washington and his Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, in particular the Battle of Brooklyn, at the time of the famous evacuation on August 29, 1776.
