Added Value - now Red Hook Farms

In late 2018, the nonprofit Added Value closed, and its farms are now run by the Red Hook Initiative under the name Red Hook Farms.

Red Hook Farms is an urban farming and compost operation in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It creates  opportunities for teens to expand their knowledge base, develop their leadership skills, and positively engage with each other, their community, and the environment and get experience in retail at the farm stands.

This continues the vision of Added Value to mentor youth, provided educational programs to elementary students, work with volunteers to farm and compost in the city, transform vacant lands into vibrant urban farms, improve access to healthy, affordable produce, and nurture a new generation of green leaders.
